A hair loss studio is launching a new professional wig and wig cutting service for women across the West Midlands.

The Evesham-based Cotswold Trichology Centre says the new wigs can help people coping with the trauma of alopecia, or recovering from cancer.

It moved into the new area after dealing with huge numbers of women who came to the firm with hair loss problems over its 10 year history.

Director Sally-Ann Tarver (above) said: "We have helped thousands of women who have come to us in need of help to deal with and treat a number of different hair loss problems over the years.

We decided it was time to expand our services and offer a professional wig service which would help our female clients cope with hair loss, whilst waiting for their treatment with us to develop.

We will be able to offer women a wig which we can specially cut into to give them their own individual look and hair style back. It is so important for women to have their own individual cut which suits their face shape and age, and most importantly makes them feel like themselves."

The company - which had to go through a £40,000 refurbishment after the devastating effects of last year's floods, has more than 10-years experience in diagnosing, advising and treating of a wide range of both common and unusual hair and scalp problems. It plans to offer the wigs in both acrylic and human hair versions.

Ms Tarver is set to meet celebrity hairdresser and wig cutting expert Trever Sorbie in February at the L'Oreal Technical Academy in London.

She will be working with Mr Sorbie on his accredited Professional Wig Cutting Course.
